Design Proposal for Simunye Cultural Centre

25 July 2018 – Plans are in order in helping the dream come alive of creating a space to celebrate the legacy and culture of those of Afro-Caribbean decent. This conceptual design created by Hiwet Dega of Open Architecture Toronto will be the basis for the project. Dione Mason is in talks with Shanna-Kay Smith, Hiwet Dega and Yaw Tony of Open Architecture Toronto, a talented group of people that will help design and create a beautiful structure.

Black Canadians have made a tremendous contribution to this country over the past 400 years. It is overdue that we have a space that celebrates our accomplishments, our culture and provides support for an uplifting future.
